Mauro’s Moments – Behind the lens of Michael Mauro

So you think that professional nature and wildlife photographers live an exciting life documenting exotic locations, wildlife and equally wild places…well we do. This amazing lifestyle is for the most part it is a thrill a minute and new challenges are presented every day. Don’t be fooled… it always requires patience, the right equipment and sometimes a little bit of luck.
My payoff is the final image but what you don’t get to see are both the natural and man-made obstacles on the way to taking the shot. I’m always asked. What was the terrain like? How scared were you? How close did you get? How cold was it? What lens did you use?
In Mauro’s Moments you will learn the answers to these questions and so much more. So come along on this behind the scenes glimpse into my world as a professional photographer. Whether we are traveling near or far, teaching other photographers some of the tricks of the trade or just having one heck of a time you will be privy to an often overlooked part of the experience in my quest to get that next great image.

>We just added the Canon Powershot G9 camera to our inventory and we have been rather impressed. It is not going to be the new workhorse but it will definitely get it used on regular basis. One of the things that makes it unique is its ability to shoot video...so we decided to put the camera to work and shoot this whole podcast using the video mode.
